“Lioness” and “The Walking Dead” actor Jay Huguley has joined the cast of “Ally Clark,” Phillip Noyce’s upcoming Amazon MGM Studios thriller.

The film, starring and produced by EGOT winner Viola Davis, follows investigator Ally Clark as she uncovers a conspiracy involving an international conglomerate following the suspicious death of a close friend. Huguley’s role has not been revealed.

With a script by producers Jose Ruisanchez and Irwin Winkler, the $50 million production is taking place in Baton Rouge, La. and is expected to wrap in June. Rounding out the cast are Benjamin Bratt, Jason Clarke, Sydney Lemmon, Benjamin Beatty, Jefferson White, Chris Sullivan, Lily Santiago, Peter Macon, Alice Halsey and Sydney Lemmon.

Davis’ husband Julius Tennon also produces through the couple’s JuVee Productions along with Winkler Films’ Irwin Winkler, David Winkler and Charles Winkler. Production designer is Andrew Menzies with costume design by Megan Coates.

Baton Rouge officials praised the production for economic development opportunities for the area during a press conference in April.

The movie takes place in Baton Rouge, New York City and Washington, D.C.

Huguley is repped by Greg Wapnik at Luber Roklin and Dawn Landrum at Landrum Arts.

In addition to “Lioness” and “The Walking Dead,” Huguley’s television credits also include “Landman,” “Outer Banks, “Will Trent,” “True Detective” and “Found.” On the film front, he appeared in “The Panic, “On Swift Horses,” “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” and “12 Years a Slave.”

Huguley will be seen in Apple TV’s upcoming series adaptation of “Cape Fear” starring Amy Adams, Javier Bardem and Patrick Wilson and the indie film “Death on the Brandywine.”
