Scorsese will appear alongside previously announced cast members Mark Eydelshteyn and Talia Ryder. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps. It is also believed that Season 1 stars Donald Glover and Maya Erskine will appear in some capacity in Season 2.

Scorsese is the daughter of legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese. She has become an actor in her own right in recent years, starring in shows like the HBO/Sky Atlantic series “We Are Who We Are” as well as films like “Roommates” and “Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point.”

The second installment of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” is shooting in Los Angeles after the production received a $22.4M tax credit from the California Film Commission to relocate. The season was initially set to film in fall 2025 but was put on an indefinite delay.

Anna Ouyang Moench will serve as showrunner and executive producer on the second season of the series. Created by Donald Glover and Season 1 showrunner Francesca Sloane, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” is inspired by the 2005 film starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. (In the show, it is two strangers who are paired up as partners in espionage, rather than a married couple.) The series earned 16 Emmy nominations and won two.

The show is executive produced by Moench, Glover, Sloane, Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Stephen Glover, Anthony Katagas, Fam Udeorji and Season 1 star Erskine, who boarded as an EP for Season 2. It’s produced by Amazon MGM Studios and New Regency. Glover will also direct multiple episodes of Season 2.
