Morgan Spector is in negotiations for the lead role of Robert Langdon in Netflix‘s upcoming series based on the Dan Brown book “The Secret of Secrets,” Variety has learned from sources.

Furthermore, Rebecca Hall is in talks for the female lead in the series, which was ordered at Netflix in May 2025.
Reps for Netflix declined to comment.
The logline for the show states, “Symbologist Robert Langdon (Spector) races against ancient forces and time to rescue a missing scientist (Hall) and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind.”

Brown and Carlton Cuse are co-creators and executive producers on the series, with Cuse also serving as showrunner under his Genre Arts banner. Emma Forman of Genre Arts also executive produces.
Spector currently stars in the hit HBO series “The Gilded Age,” on which he would continue to star should the Langdon show get picked up and should “The Gilded Age” get renewed for a fifth season.
