In her new role, which Barlow will begin Aug. 3, the exec will oversee all marketing efforts for Prime Video’s U.S. and Global Original Series.
Barlow will report directly to Sue Kroll, Amazon MGM Studios’ global head of marketing for film, series and brand. Barlow’s newly created position mirrors that of VP of film marketing Stephen Bruno, who also reports to Kroll.
“Pia brings an incredible amount of expertise and experience, gleaned over a number of years spent in every possible genre of film and television – and I can’t wait for her to meet and begin collaborating with all of you,” Kroll said in a memo to employees announcing Barlow’s hire Friday.
Most recently, Barlow served as head of originals marketing for HBO Max, where she led campaigns for “The Pitt,” “Euphoria,” “House of the Dragon,” “Hacks” and and HBO’s upcoming “Harry Potter” TV adaptation, among other projects.
Prior to her time in that role at HBO Max, Barlow worked at Netflix on series including “Orange Is the New Black,” “Master of None,” “Making a Murderer” and “Queer Eye,” as well as growing the streamer’s international originals marketing strategy.
