Tony Award winner Lena Hall has boarded “Disconnecting Peter,” joining previously announced star Chad Michael Murray in the upcoming family drama. The film is written and directed by Christopher Beatty.
Hall will play Elizabeth Ruck, wife to Murray’s Peter Ruck, a woman working to hold her family together as her husband’s destructive patterns threaten to unravel them. The film follows the Ruck family as they reckon with the fallout of a past tragedy, and the question of whether to confront their pain or let it break them apart.
Hall is a stage and screen veteran. She won a Tony for her performance in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,”
and is starring in Apple TVs “Your Friends & Neighbors.” She was also a cast member on “Snowpiercer.” Her films include “Becks,” “The Graduates” and “Honey Don’t!” She appeared in the original Broadway production of “Kinky Boots.”
Eddie Micallef and Benjamin J. Murray will produce “Disconnecting Peter.” Thomas J. Molica is executive producing. Stephanie Holbrook is overseeing casting.
“Lena has this rare ability to carry devastation and resolve in the same moment — that’s Elizabeth. She and Chad are going to bring something really special to this family,” Beatty said.
Murray is known for “Sullivan’s Crossing,” “A Cinderella Story,” “Agent Carter,” “Freaky Friday” and “The Merry Gentlemen.” He first broke out on “One Tree Hill” and “Gilmore Girls.” He most recently appeared in last summer’s hit sequel, “Freakier Friday.”
Production on “Disconnecting Peter” is slated to begin in January 2027 in New Jersey, with additional casting underway.
