The new series, shot on location in Korea, is fronted by the three top-placing fate readers from “Battle of Fates,” joined at points by other contestants from the original cast. The format sends its participants around the country to sites tied to Korean spiritual practice, where they take in ceremonies, regional customs and communal meals.

Along the way, cast members sit for personal fate readings and open up about relationships and losses in their own lives, then move into direct contact with shamanic ritual, a practice the format positions as central to Korean spiritual life.

“Battle of Fates” premiered on Feb. 11 and became the No. 1 series premiere on Disney+ Korea based on views in its first 12 days. The competition series featured masters of shamanism, tarot, face and foot reading, saju and other divination disciplines competing in challenges that tested their abilities, using tools including fans, bells, dowsing rods and modern-day laptops.

“Battle of Fates” Season 1 comprises 10 episodes, all available to stream on Disney+ alongside other Korean variety titles including “I Am Boxer,” “The Zone: Survival Mission” and “My Name Is Gabriel,” starring Blackpink’s Jennie.
