Perez Hilton‘s TikTok account has been banned by the online platform after his disturbing livestream incident on Tuesday night where he appeared to harm himself.

Police responded to a possible suicide attempt at Hilton’s Miami home, and he was hospitalized later Tuesday night. Viewers of Hilton’s TikTok livestream had contacted police after seeing him covered in blood and cutting himself with a knife.
A TikTok spokesperson told People that the platform’s automated moderation system flagged Hilton’s livestream after several minutes and that it was shut down after 15 minutes. The spokesperson added that a moderation error caused a delay in taking the livestream down.

“Many of you have reached out with concern for Perez, and we are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and prayers,” Hilton’s family wrote in a statement on his blog. “We can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care, and our family’s focus right now is on his well-being. If and when we are able to share any updates, we will do so with everyone as soon as we can. Thank you for your compassion, understanding, and continued support.”
