The film follows Tefa and Nia, who live in a small town near the Magdalena River, where they raise Nia’s young nephew. Nia persuades Tefa to join her in smuggling cellphones into the regional prison. Their journey leads them through an extravagant amusement park built on the grounds of a drug lord’s former estate.

“As they wander among water slides, verdant paths, and concrete dinosaurs, disquieting memories whisper in the summer heat. In a landscape where violence lingers beneath every surface, Tefa is drawn toward an inevitable encounter,” according to the synopsis.

Queralt Pons Serra, managing partner at MoreThan Films, said, “What excited us about ‘Meteorite’ from the beginning was the strength and singularity of Sebastián’s gaze. You can really feel his artistic background in the way he approaches images, spaces and textures, creating a world that is incredibly cinematic, beautiful and also deeply emotional. There is something very immersive and atmospheric about the film that stayed with us long after watching it.”
