Francesca Moody Productions has unveiled the first wave of guest performers joining Tim Crouch’s “An Oak Tree” for its run at The Other Palace in London, with Sacha Dhawan, Gemma Whelan, Bessie Carter, Rosalie Craig, Hammed Animashaun, George Fouracres, Clare Perkins and Tom Mothersdale each taking on a single performance.
Crouch performs alongside a different second actor at every show, none of whom read or rehearse the script in advance. “An Oak Tree” runs at The Other Palace from Oct. 7 through Nov. 15.
The schedule of guest performers, in order, runs as follows: Craig on Oct. 9, Perkins on Oct. 13, Mothersdale on Oct. 14, Whelan on Oct. 15, Carter on Oct. 16, Dhawan on Oct. 23, Animashaun on Oct. 29 and Fouracres on Nov. 10.
Craig recently starred as Kitty Eckersley in Sally Wainwright’s “Riot Women” for BBC One and earned an Olivier nomination for “The Light Princess” at the National Theatre. Perkins appeared in Indhu Rubasingham’s “Bacchae” at the National Theatre and starred opposite Sadie Sink in “Romeo & Juliet” in the West End. Mothersdale’s stage credits include “A Doll’s House” and “Oil” at the Almeida Theatre, while his television work spans “Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light” and “Peaky Blinders.”
Whelan is known for playing Yara Greyjoy in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and has appeared across all three series of ITV’s “The Tower.” Carter currently plays Nancy Mitford in BritBox’s “Outrageous” and is also known for playing Prudence Featherington in Netflix’s “Bridgerton.” Dhawan has been announced for Netflix’s “Extraction” and plays the latest incarnation of the Master in BBC One’s “Doctor Who.” Animashaun, a BAFTA nominee for “Black Ops,” appeared in Sky’s “SNL U.K.” and the Donmar Warehouse’s “Dealer’s Choice.” Fouracres, another “SNL U.K.” cast member, is a regular at Shakespeare’s Globe, with credits including “Hamlet” and “Twelfth Night.”

“An Oak Tree” premiered in 2005 and has since been performed hundreds of times across more than 19 countries, with more than 350 guest artists taking part over two decades. Past performers include Frances McDormand, Geoffrey Rush, Peter Dinklage, David Tennant, Jessie Buckley and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
The production is part of a new Francesca Moody Productions season at The Other Palace running from Oct. 5, 2026 through Jan. 10, 2027, bringing together three shows that originated at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The season also includes “Garry Starr: Classic Penguins,” created by Damien Warren-Smith and running Oct. 22 through Jan. 3 with a press night of Oct. 23, and “Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen,” written by Marcelo Dos Santos and starring Steven Webb, running Nov. 19 through Jan. 10.
Francesca Moody, the season’s executive producer, originated two of the past decade’s most successful television adaptations, “Fleabag” and “Baby Reindeer,” both of which began as stage productions before moving to the screen.
