Bloom will receive the award, which is not connected to the Venice Film Festival, on Sept. 6.

“It is a great honor for us to welcome Orlando Bloom to the latest edition of the Filming Italy Venice Award,” said marketing guru and longtime Italian industry promoter Tiziana Rocca in a statement. Rocca, who heads Filming Italy and also leads the Taormina Film Festival, praised Bloom as “an actor of extraordinary charisma, capable of captivating audiences around the world with his elegance, talent and versatility,” noting that he has “achieved international fame thanks to his participation in two of the greatest film sagas of all time: ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean.’”
