\n\t\u201cGrowing Pains\u201d star Kirk Cameron recently explained on the \u201cAdam Carolla Podcast\u201d that he left California for Tennessee to escape the Golden State\u2019s \u201cterrible politics\u201d and \u201call the other things that make it difficult to raise a family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen you\u2019re a kid in California it\u2019s great because your parents are paying for everything,\u201d Cameron said. \u201cSo, you go to the beach, you\u2019re hanging out, you\u2019re going snow skiing, you get to eat an In-N-Out burger, you get to get some hot dogs downtown in Hollywood. It\u2019s great. You\u2019re having a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cBut then, like my kids, they finally got out on their own, and they realized how expensive it is. They realize how terrible the politics are and all of the other things that make it difficult to raise a family there. And so all of a sudden it\u2019s like, \u2018Oh my gosh, we got to move. We got to go somewhere where we can actually thrive and maybe even just survive.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCameron said he \u201chopes to come back\u201d to California one day, adding that \u201cpound-for-pound, I think California has just so much to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking on the positives of living in Nashville, Cameron said, \u201cThere\u2019s so many creatives here that have good values. They love their family. They\u2019re proud of their country \u2014 and the whiskey is great. So, if you like whiskey and hot chicken, Nashville is the place to be.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCameron starred as Mike Seaver, the oldest son in the Seaver family, across all seven seasons of \u201cGrowing Pains,\u201d which ran for 167 episodes on ABC. <\/p>\n
