Femi Koleoso, drummer and leader of British jazz group Ezra Collective, also appears in his on-screen debut.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tWritten and directed by Drake Doremus (\u201cZoe and Equals\u201d), \u201cNext Life\u201d is set in London\u2019s jazz scene where Clarke\u2019s character Ivy embarks on two alternate realities forcing her to reconsider life and love.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cPlaying out both stories concurrently, \u2018Next Life\u2019 takes us down not one but two paths in this complex maze we call life,\u201d reads the synopsis.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe film, which is set to premiere at Tribeca Film Festival on June 5, will be released in U.K. and Irish cinemas fall 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=1121\">Charli xcx Reveals New Album \u2018Music, Fashion, Film\u2019 Will Release in July \u2014 and Martin Scorsese Is on the Cover<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve never felt that level of joy in a job,\u201d Clarke told <em>Variety<\/em> of her experience making the film. \u201cWhen I was younger, I did a lot of jazz singing, so getting to be a jazz singer [in the film] was really profound.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tEd Caffrey, Vertigo Releasing\u2019s chief commercial officer said: \u201cWe thrilled to be bringing \u2018Next Life\u2019 to U.K. audiences. Drake Doremus has crafted a genuinely transporting, emotionally intelligent love story set against the backdrop of London\u2019s thrillingly alive jazz scene.
