\nThe Beach Boys first made waves in the 60s, and several decades later, the group has cemented its place in music history. Among their most famed bodies of work is the 1966 album \u201cPet Sounds,\u201d which turned 60 on May 16. In honor of the major birthday, Amazon has rolled out merchandise dedicated to both the famed album and the group at large.<\/p>

\n\tCollection standouts include the \u201cPet Sounds Session\u201d album, available in both vinyl and CD formats, along with Amazon-exclusive album merchandise, ranging from t-shirts and crewnecks to branded water bottles and tumblers. \nVariety<\/em>\u2018s Chris Willman recently sat down with the surviving members of the Beach Boys \u2014 Mike Love, Al Jardine and Bruce Johnston \u2014 to talk about the album six decades later. Love, when asked if he could have imagined such a celebration surrounding the anniversary, said, \u201cI don\u2019t think any modern artist thinks in terms of celebrating their album 60 years down the road. It\u2019s pretty amazing.\u201d He went on to explain that the group \u201cwanted to create an album that was comprehensive in nature and then come out with it,\u201d while also noting how different it was from the chart-topping records that had brought them to that point. This celebration comes a year after the death of the band\u2019s co-founder, Brian Wilson, who was 82.<\/p>
