\nTom Holland told Amy Poehler on the latest episode of the \u201cGood Hang\u201d podcast that acting alongside his partner Zendaya is a \u201clifeline\u201d and \u201cI couldn\u2019t imagine doing what I do without her.\u201d The two A-list stars have worked together in four \u201cSpider-Man\u201d movies, including this summer\u2019s \u201cBrand New Day.\u201d They will also both appear in Christopher Nolan\u2019s \u201cThe Odyssey.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAccording to Holland, the duo had an \u201camazing moment\u201d on the set of \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d when they mutually acknowledged that a scene they were filming just wasn\u2019t working. He explained that it was \u201conly because of our relationship that\u201d he had the courage to check in with Zendaya to make sure they both agreed the scene needed to be rewritten and reshot.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe shot my coverage. Now we\u2019re doing her coverage,\u00a0and I would never ever dream of saying this to an actress that I wasn\u2019t with. So I said, \u2018Do you think that this scene is working?\u2019 And she was like, \u2018No. I don\u2019t think the scene is working at all,’\u201d Holland said. \u201cI went to the producers and asked, \u2018Do you think the scene is working?\u2019 They said, \u2018No,\u2019 and I said, \u2018Yeah, me and Z are really not feeling it.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland and Zendaya then took their concerns to the film\u2019s director, Destin Daniel Cretton, saying: \u201cHey, man, listen, I know we\u2019ve been shooting for hours and I hate to tell you this, but I just, I don\u2019t think that this scene is working. What we\u2019re supposed to feel, we\u2019re not feeling it in the moment.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe\u2019s so calm. Nothing can throw him off,\u201d Holland explained. \u201cHe listened and sat down and was like, \u2018What are you trying to feel?\u2019 I told him and he said, \u2018That\u2019s exactly what we need to be feeling.\u2019 He said to the crew, \u2018Everyone can go home and we\u2019re gonna sit down and rewrite this scene.\u2019 We came in the next day and reshot the scene and I\u2019m so glad that we did because it sings in the movie. It was just so funny, I was thinking about, like, if this wasn\u2019t Zendaya that I was sitting across from\u2026 imagine on someone else\u2019s coverage being like, \u2018Do you think this is working?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland went on to praise Zendaya as \u201cfearless\u201d when it comes to her acting, adding: \u201cShe\u2019s just like absolutely 10 toes down, I\u2019m gonna give this everything. When you watch her as Rue, she could not be more different to who she is in real life. And then if you see her as Emma in\u00a0\u2018The Drama,\u2019 it\u2019s just such a different performance, but with no less intent or passion or drive.\u201d<\/p>\n
