\nOlivia Rodrigo told Dazed magazine in a new interview ahead of the release of her third studio album that she was \u201cenraged\u201d last fall when she was scrolling on her phone and discovered that Trump\u2019s Department of Homeland Security was using her song \u201cAll-American Bitch\u201d to promote ICE deportations.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was so deeply disturbing to see that propaganda, and the fact it was my song in there made me feel even more enraged,\u201d Rodrigo said. \u201cWhat they\u2019re doing is so awful and barbaric and cruel. I am really sad to be in a country that thinks that\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRodrigo initially responded to the DHS by commenting on the post: \u201cDon\u2019t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe video was posted last year on Nov. 4 and used \u201cAll-American Bitch,\u201d the first song on Rodrigo\u2019s 2023 sophomore album \u201cGuts,\u201d over images of ICE agents detaining people of color. The DHS captioned the video: \u201cLEAVE NOW and self-deport using the CBP Home app. If you don\u2019t, you will face the consequences.\u201d Rodrigo\u2019s song played in the background with the following lyrics: \u201cAll the time, I\u2019m grateful all the time, I\u2019m sexy and I\u2019m kind, I\u2019m pretty when I cry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRodrigo is far from the only artist to condemn Trump\u2019s White House for using music without consent to promote ICE\u2019s agenda. The DHS used Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s \u201cJuno\u201d in a pro-ICE video last December, prompting the singer to post on social media: \u201cThis video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKenny Loggins\u00a0made headlines\u00a0last October for bashing the White House\u2019s use of his hit song \u201cDanger Zone\u201d in a video that depicted Trump flying over No Kings protestors and dropping poop all over them.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis is an unauthorized use of my performance of \u2018Danger Zone.\u2019 Nobody asked me for my permission, which I would have denied, and I request that my recording on this video is removed immediately,\u201d Loggins said in a statement shared with\u00a0Variety<\/em>\u00a0at the time. \u201cI can\u2019t imagine why anybody would want their music used or associated with something created with the sole purpose of dividing us. Too many people are trying to tear us apart, and we need to find new ways to come together.\u201d<\/p>\n
