\n\tAnd she should know. Visage has been a judge on the main show, \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race,\u201d for over 16 years. RuPaul isn\u2019t just a colleague\u2014he\u2019s her best friend. She has said this many times before and repeats it for any queen. She says, \u201cYou would think after a few seasons they would understand that.\u201d However, her observation is that queens tend to overthink. \u201cIt happens all the time. You want to make Ru laugh, and you\u2019re overthinking. But when you peel it away, you realize, \u2018Oh, this is not as difficult as I was making it out to be.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSomeone who understood the assignment was Myki Meeks. Meeks didn\u2019t have the strongest start to the season, but after her fellow queens placed her at the bottom of the \u201cRate-A-Queen\u201d twist, she exacted her revenge. And yes, she made Ru laugh several times. In the end, it was Meeks who sashayed her way to the top and was crowned the winner of \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race\u201d Season 18.<\/p>\n

\n\tHere, Meeks and Visage look back on the season and pick out their top moments from the show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tBriar Blush faints\t<\/h5>\n

\n\tOn Episode 4, Briar Blush faints after guest judge Law Roach tells her, \u201cYou look like a WWE wrestler.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeeks explains, \u201cThe poor girl was not taking care of herself at the time, and she was under a lot of stress.\u201d While Blush recovered, Vita and Mia thought for a moment that she was faking it.<\/p>\n

\n\tVisage recalls seeing it, \u201cI think I was like, uh, are you okay?\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\t\tMikey Meeks\u2019 snatch game with Drew Barrymore\t<\/h5>\n

\n\tBy the time it came to the Snatch Game challenge, Meeks was ready and confident. \u201cThis was my fourth audition for the show. The first two times, I wasn\u2019t expecting anything; I was doing it for the practice, but I\u2019ve auditioned as Drew Barrymore almost every time, because I knew it was a good impression.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis time around, the format was slightly different \u2013 the \u201cSnatch Game of Love: Island Edition,\u201d where the queens competed in a dating-style show. Meeks says, \u201cOne of my biggest strengths is physical comedy, so being able to bring that essence into Snatch Game took the impersonation to another level.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBut it didn\u2019t end there. The moment went viral, and Barrymore invited Meeks on the show for a sit-down interview. \u201cIt\u2019s next level to have a current season airing, and have one of the contestants go on daytime, that felt very special, and it helps to make Ru laugh, during Snatch Game. What\u2019s better than that?\u201d Meeks adds, \u201cIf you can make Ru laugh during Snatch Game, you check something off in her mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVisage notes making Ru laugh is really the key. She says, \u201cIf you listen to \u2018What\u2019s the Tee?\u2019 \u2013 our former podcast \u2013 people want to make it so much more difficult than it is. Myki embodied Drew, and did with her what she wanted to do with her. If you can\u2019t embody someone, then don\u2019t do it, do Drew\u2019s cousin, do something else. There are ways to make it work if you\u2019re not an impersonator. Most people are not, so you have to find a way. Work smarter, not harder. It does not need to be as difficult as people want to make it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\tDiscord Addam\u2019s walk\t<\/h5>\n

\n\tAddams\u2019 walk became another iconic moment from the show. It became a running gag and GIFs galore were created. Visage was humored by it and says, \u201cYou see something that not only is it funny, but I love it so much that I would pay, in that moment, to see more of it. I would say, \u2018Did you see the walk?\u2019 \u2018Please tell me you say the walk?\u2019 And then Ru starts laughing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\tJuicy Love Dion\t<\/h5>\n

\n\tVisage reveals she was in awe when Dion did a handstand during a lip sync against Jane Don\u2019t. As the two faced off, Dion did a costume reveal. \u201cI can\u2019t tell you again, I\u2019m a kid in a candy story. I love my job,\u201d Visage says. When she\u2019s not happy, get ready for Visage to show her \u201cbitchy face,\u201d but when she is, \u201cyou see my face light up.\u201d Dion landed in the bottom two a total of four times, and Visage admits, \u201cBut I\u2019d be so excited to watch that bitch lip sync, she is amazing.\u201d Adding, \u201cNot that I was excited she was in the bottom.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\tMyki\u2019s confidence shift\t<\/h5>\n

\n\tOn more than one occasion, Visage has seen queens who come in and don\u2019t start off as powerhouses. \u201cThat\u2019s not a bad thing. You\u2019re getting over nerves and realizing that you\u2019re amongst people who are as fabulous as you are, and figuring out how you\u2019re going to play it, what you\u2019re going to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVisage adds, \u201cI didn\u2019t expect this bitch to be so fierce, and then figuring it out, and then when you see it click, it\u2019s like she got it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter the \u201cRate-a-queen\u201d twist, Visage recalls the moment she saw a shift in Meeks. \u201cThe climb began when she, concerned citizen Stephanie Miller. And then it was Snatch Game.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeeks says, \u201cFrom that moment, I was mostly in the top every episode after that. That was when I realized I could get to the end.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen Jane Don\u2019t who had been the front runner, was sent home, Meeks realized she was suddenly the frontrunner.<\/p>\n

\n\tVisage says, \u201cFront runners are tough when you come out of the box, all guns blazing, the target is on you, and then you start to buckle under the pressure, not always, but a lot of times that can happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd that\u2019s when it clicked for Meeks, that she could win and be crowned America\u2019s Drag Superstar.<\/p>\n
