\n\tNBCUniversal is hosting an invite-only comedy showcase at 30 Rock on Friday, putting a select group of up-and-coming talent in front of industry leaders including NBCU casting and development executives, late-night execs, agents and bookers.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe showcase, dubbed \u201cThe NBC Comedy Hour,\u201d borrows its title from NBC\u2019s original broadcast series that ended its run on June 10, 1956, nearly 70 years ago to the date. The title is an homage to the comedic legacy of the network, which pioneered late-night TV and created \u201cSaturday Night Live,\u201d the longest-running sketch comedy show in history.<\/p>\n

\n\tHosted by Monet X Change (\u201cThe Traitors\u201d), the showcase will feature Eeland Stribling, Sammy Mowrey, Dvontre Coleman, Maggie Crane, KC Shornima and Rocky Dale Davis. While each have proven their comedic chops between writers rooms and club stages, a couple of the comics do not currently have representation.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe lineup was curated by the NBC and Peacock casting team, led by Grace Wu, after consideration from various open showcases, auditions and open mic nights.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re proud to shine a spotlight on this incredible group of performers,\u201d added Jennifer McNamara, SVP of casting for NBC and Peacock. \u201cWe spent months bringing together this lineup through showcases, open mics and auditions, and this event gives them the opportunity to do what they do best in the place where so many comedy legends have made their mark.\u201d<\/p>\n
