That came after Bloomberg reported that Roku has been \u201cin discussions with at least one U.S. media company about a potential combination,\u201d citing anonymous sources. The report did not identify the media company.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA Roku rep did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRoku, founded in 2002, was one of the earliest players in the streaming-devices space \u2014 and it has remained independent since then, battling for market share against tech giants like Amazon, Google, Samsung and Apple.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe company, after years of struggling to achieve profitability, reported its first full-year profit for 2025, with net income of $88.4 million on revenue of $4.74 billion (up 15% year over year). The company touted Q1 as its highest quarter to date for premium subscription sign-ups.
