\n\tWith only a few episodes left behind the desk of \u201cThe Late Show,\u201d Stephen Colbert dedicated Monday\u2019s show to the segments, sketches and graphics that never made it to air.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe definitely have enough material for a \u2018Best of\u2019 clip show, but y\u2019all got YouTube \u2014 you do it,\u201d Colbert quipped in a laid-back monologue. \u201cWe thought it\u2019d be more fun to show you stuff we made but never aired and call it \u2018The Worst of the Late Show,\u2019 though technically what you\u2019re about to see is still the best worst stuff we ever made.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs is tradition during \u201cThe Late Show\u201d rehearsal, Colbert ate steamed chicken out of a to-go container while performing in front of his staff. \u201cIf you see anything you don\u2019t like, it\u2019s their fault!\u201d the host said.<\/p>\n

\n\tOne old sketch Colbert debuted for the first time on air was a parody commercial for a product called Erotic Body Gravy, to be used for post-Thanksgiving dinner sex.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen I watched it, I said \u2018Those actors are way too attractive for comedy.\u2019 You guys ended up just making softcore gravy porn,\u201d Colbert said. To make matters worse: \u201cUnbeknownst to me at the time \u2014 or anyone else \u2014 my appendix had already burst before rehearsal and was leaking poisonous bile into my abdominal cavity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn one segment, the \u201cGraphics Graveyard,\u201d Colbert and his art director Andro Buneta revived a variety of graphics that died before making it to air. Among them: a Thanksgiving porn magazine called Giblets; \u201cThe Giving Tree\u201d book cover but the tree is wearing bondage gear and the title is \u201cThe Very Giving Tree\u201d; and a Hillary Clinton 45th President image. \u201cOh, grow up! It all worked out fine,\u201d Colbert joked. <\/p>\n

\n\tColbert also welcomed back a character named Shrieking Joe, a Kid Rock-esque political candidate whose two appearances on \u201cThe Late Show\u201d led to an unprecedented minute-to-minute ratings drop, according to a CBS executive.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd he sang a song that never made it to air with \u201cLate Show\u201d writer Michael Cruz Kayne. The duet was \u201cIt\u2019s Raining Fish,\u201d a song to the tune of \u201cIt\u2019s Raining Men\u201d and a pitch that Colbert rejected four times over the years. Here\u2019s the gist: \u201cIt\u2019s raining fish \/ Bluefin tuna, my favorite dish.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tColbert closed the episode with a heartfelt note directed to his staff: \u201cWe never could\u2019ve made all that terrible stuff \u2014 as well as some of the good stuff we showed you \u2014 without the amazing people in this room. This staff is so brilliant, collaborative, so creative and so kind.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThen he urged audiences to tune in to his final three episodes, promising, \u201cThey\u2019ll be better than this!\u201d<\/p>\n
