The film is competing for the Golden Goblet Award in the main competition section.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=2184\">Fox Is Buying Roku in $22 Billion Deal<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe film centers on Fatma, a left-wing activist who goes into hiding in a cramped space between wooden planks at a construction site and must rely on a group of workers she has never met to evade capture. \u00c7elik, who drew from personal experience in shaping the story, chose to place a woman at the center of the drama.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cMany countries are no strangers to political oppression, and most similar films feature male protagonists,\u201d \u00c7elik said. \u201cBy having a female protagonist, I hope to give voice to women in this genre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tShot in black and white, the film reflects \u00c7elik\u2019s view that color can obscure a story\u2019s emotional core. He added that a third film, tentatively titled \u201cSa\u011f\u0131r Gece\u201d (Night of the Deaf) is also planned.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u00c7elik added that as a filmmaker he hoped to illuminate \u201ccertain aspects of reality that are being downplayed and ignored,\u201d and said he expected Chinese audiences to connect with the material. \u201cTurkey and China have a lot in common in terms of worldview and history,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAppearing alongside the director at the press event were lead actors \u0130\u015ftar G\u00f6k\u015feven, who plays the military commander, and Aydin Orak, who portrays an inspector.
