\nTom Holland is sharing his thoughts on the hot-button topic of AI, and he\u2019s not shy about explaining why it \u201cdoesn\u2019t have a soul.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCreativity is safe from AI because creativity has to do with the human experience,\u201d Holland said while appearing on Spain\u2019s \u201cEl Hormiguero\u201d talk show Wednesday alongside Zendaya. \u201cIt\u2019s about emotions, it\u2019s about understanding one another.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAI can sift through data, but it can\u2019t understand people\u2019s emotions. It doesn\u2019t understand the difference between being happy and being sad,\u201d Holland continued. \u201cThe way artists paint, it\u2019s not about what they\u2019re copying, it\u2019s about expressing themselves. So I feel protected.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland\u2019s appearance on \u201cEl Hormiguero\u201d comes as the star preps for a busy summer movie season. First, he will appear as Telemachus in Christopher Nolan\u2019s highly anticipated \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d set to release July 24. Then he will make his return to the Marvel universe with \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day,\u201d set to release July 31. Zendaya also stars in both pictures.<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland is among numerous actors and filmmakers speaking out about widespread concerns around AI and job security in Hollywood. On Monday night, \u201cFrankenstein\u201d director Guillermo del Toro sounded the alarm on the quickly developing technology, saying: \u201cWe are on the verge of image illiteracy. We are on the verge of cinema illiteracy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the other hand, the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock have spoken out in favor of trying to understand AI and implement it in everyday life, while Martin Scorsese has partnered with an AI company and says he will use its technology for storyboarding movies.<\/p>\n

\n\tHolland was last seen in \u201cThe Crowded Room,\u201d \u201cUncharted\u201d and \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home.\u201d<\/p>\n
