\n\tIndependent distributor Viva Kids has acquired the animated films \u201cTreasure Trekkers,\u201d\u201cSpace Cadet,\u201d and \u201cPirate Mo and the Legend of the Red Ruby\u201d to add to its upcoming release calendar; specific dates to be announced later.<\/p>\n

\u201cTreasure Trekkers\u201dis based on J.S. Friedman\u2019s children\u2019s book series \u201cMaurice\u2019s Valises,\u201d which follows the \u201cadventures of young explorers on quests around the world.\u201d Directed by Kevin Munroe, the film features a voice cast including Alan Cumming, Jack McBrayer, Greg Cipes, Tara Strong, Meredith Bull, and John DiMaggio.<\/p>\n

Directed by Kid Koala (Eric San) and featuring Karen and Emil\u00edana Torrini, \u201cSpace Cadet\u201d tells the tale of \u201castronaut Celeste who launches into space on her first solo mission, leaving behind Robot, the guardian who raised her. Alone for the first time, each must confront what it means to let go. As Celeste faces unexpected dangers in the vast reaches of space,her memories become her only compass.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adapted from the children\u2019s book \u201cSeer\u00e4ubermoses\u201d by Kirsten Boie, \u201cPirate Mo and the Legend of the Red Ruby\u201d is \u201ca swashbuckling adventure full of heart, guts, and hope for a better world, led by a young girl whose goodness is matched only by her derring-do.\u201d The film is directed by Florian Westerman.<\/p>\n

The deals were negotiated by Mayank Jhalani for Viva Pictures, Jason Bressand for \u201cTreasure Trekkers,\u201d Florencia Gil for \u201cSpace Cadet\u201d and Gamze Celik for \u201cPirate Mo and the Legend of the Red Ruby.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nCrayola Studios Names Nicole Graves as Winner of Kids\u2019 Content Development Initiative<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tCrayola Studios, the children\u2019s and family entertainment content division of Crayola, has named Nicole Graves as the first-ever winner of its Kids\u2019 Content Development Initiative, in partnership with Geena Davis and the Bentonville Film Festival.<\/p>\n

\n\tGraves will receive $10,000 and the opportunity for development of the winning concept by Crayola Studios for her series \u201cImagINN.\u201d The animated series for children 6 to 11 sees kids check into a colorful hotel that helps them navigate big emotions through imagination, creativity, and self-expression. <\/p>\n

\n\tSabrina Wiewel, EVP and Head of Crayola Studios, said: \u201cWe were blown away by the imagination, heart, and originality of the submissions to this new initiative, designed to create opportunities for creatives with fresh perspectives and original ideas that can inspire the next generation. Our five finalists all created exceptionally strong and intriguing proposals, making it a hard task to choose just one, but we were totally captivated by [winner\u2019s] presentation which aligns perfectly with Crayola\u2019s values. Now we look forward to working together to develop the idea into exciting new content to engage and inspire young viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCrayola Studios also announced a development deal with Kickstart Entertainment for \u201cCreate the Impossible,\u201d a new live-action STEAM series for kids co-created by astronaut, MIT-engineer turned Emmy-nominated science TV host Emily Calandrelli and multi Emmy and Peabody award-winning executive Maria Pepin.<\/p>\n

\n\tEmily Calandrelli said: \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to be partnering with Kickstart Entertainment and Crayola Studios on Create the Impossible. Crayola has inspired generations of kids to think creatively, making them the perfect partner for a show that celebrates imagination, experimentation, and big ideas. Together, we\u2019ll challenge kids to dream boldly, embrace curiosity, and discover what can happen when art and engineering collide!\u201d<\/p>\n

\nWagner Moura and Greta Lee Fight for Survival in \u2018The Last House\u2019 Trailer<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tNetflix has released the trailer for \u201cThe Last House,\u201d starring Greta Lee and Wagner Moura.<\/p>\n

\n\tPer the official description, the sci-fi thriller is directed by Louis Leterrier\u00a0and follows \u201ca family of four who are suddenly sealed inside their home with no way out. They must work together to survive against both their dwindling resources and the mysterious threat keeping them trapped.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGabriel Barbosa,\u00a0Emma Ho,\u00a0Noah Alexander Sosnowski, and\u00a0Riley Chung round out the cast. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Last House\u201d marks Moura\u2019s first film since his Academy Award-nominated performance in \u201cThe Secret Agent.\u201d Lee \u2014 who is best known for her work in \u201cPast Lives\u201d and will appear in \u201cToy Story 5\u201d this month \u2014 adds the film to her body of work exploring identity, relationships, and personal growth. <\/p>\n

The film premieres globally on Netflix on August 7.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith KJ Apa leading the cast as the Oscar-winning performer, \u201cJimmy\u201d tells the untold true story of Stewart\u2019s life, following his experience filming \u201cThe Philadelphia Story\u201d to enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps at the beginning of World War II. The film was directed and produced by Aaron Burns; the screenplay is written by Justin Strawhand, Max Casella plays \u201cIt\u2019s a Wonderful Life\u201d director Frank Capra, Kara Killmer plays Lady Julia and Variety<\/em>\u2018s own Marc Malkin plays Glenn Miller.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have the festival world premiere of \u2018Jimmy\u2019 at the Heartland Film Festival ahead of its nationwide release,\u201d producer Angela Galgani Sullivan said in a statement. \u201cJimmy Stewart\u2019s spirit has long been celebrated at Heartland, and for good reason. \nArt Directors Guild to Return to Beverly Hilton for Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards in February<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tThe Art Directors Guild has announced that its 31st Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards will be held Feb. 27 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.<\/p>\n

According to a statement, the ADG Awards \u201ccelebrate excellence in production design and recognize the creative vision and artistry of production designers, art directors, scenic, title and graphic artists, illustrators, matte artists, model makers, set designers, and other design professionals whose work helps shape the visual language of film, television, commercials, music videos and animated features.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s awards ceremony will be produced by Megan Elizabeth Bell, ADG, and Kate Weddle, ADG. The 2027 event marks the Guild\u2019s return to the hotel and will feature updated Awards Rules, including a strengthened Code of Conduct and new submission guidance for projects under non-disclosure agreements.<\/p>\n

\nPsychological Thriller \u2018Eternal Properties\u2019 Adds Kahyun Kim and Nick Ballard to Cast<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n\tKahyun Kim and Nick Ballard have boarded the psychological sci-fi thriller \u201cEternal Properties.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKim, known for her starring role on \u201cSt. Denis Medical,\u201d and Ballard, known for \u201cRosario,\u201d join a cast rounded out by Betsy Hume, Nils Stewart, Travis Lincoln Cox and Michael Guarsaci. \u201cEternal Properties,\u201d which is currently filming in Carmel, California, follows a private nurse named Sabrina (Kim) as she turns the same age her mother was when she died of ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHer newest patient, Julian Milton (Ballard), is an eccentric tech entrepreneur conducting a longevity experiment known as Project Paradigm from his secluded coastal compound,\u201d an official synopsis reads. \u201cWhen he offers the chance for Sabrina to join the trial as its first female participant, she can\u2019t resist. But Sabrina soon learns that cheating death comes at a dangerous cost.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMaceo Greenberg directs from Laura Picklesimer\u2019s script, based on characters from her upcoming novel. Greenberg and Picklesimer produce under their Story Well Productions banner, in addition to Hannah Mendelson and co-producer Cameron Hahn.<\/p>\n
