\n\tLast week, it was revealed on an episode of \u201cClarkson\u2019s Farm\u201d \u2014 which was shot last year \u2014 that he had been diagnosed with an \u201caggressive\u201d form of prostate cancer. However, in a new interview with The Sunday Times, Clarkson said that he is now in remission. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI am without a doubt, officially, the world\u2019s luckiest man,\u201d he said, telling The Times that the reaction to his diagnosis \u201clanded harder than I thought it would.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe cancer was discovered last May after a routine check-up, and required a procedure to remove a tumor on his prostate. \u201cIt was an aggressive type of cancer,\u201d Clarkson said. \u201cIt could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBut Clarkson said a follow-up test taken two months ago showed no indication of cancer, though he acknowledged that 40% of those who get prostate cancer once will get it again. \u201cI try to be positive,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019ve decided to be one of the 60% who doesn\u2019t have a recurrence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe experience has inspired Clarkson to encourage other men to get their prostates checked in order to catch any cancer early, like he did. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis is why I have to say to everybody who\u2019s reading this, please, please, please go and get checked,\u201d Clarkson told The Times. \u201cIt\u2019s not uncomfortable, it\u2019s not undignified. And it\u2019s a no-brainer. I did, and that\u2019s why I\u2019m sitting here talking to you 11 months down the line.\u201d<\/p>\n
