\n\tOn Monday night\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Daily Show,\u201d Jon Stewart covered the fiasco that is President Donald Trump\u2019s renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which is now infested with algae.<\/p>\n

\n\tStewart opened the show with CNN soundbites, which explained that the pool\u2019s high phosphate levels invited a \u201csignificant algae bloom\u201d that turned the monument into \u201ca sea of green.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat is really fucking green,\u201d Stewart joked. \u201cThat shit\u2019s neon green! Did they replace the water with Mountain Dew?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThrough another pair of soundbites, \u201cThe Daily Show\u201d revealed that one of the companies working on the renovation won the job through a \u201cno-bid contract,\u201d and was \u201cowned by a trust run by Republican donor John Cafaro.\u201d After revealing a photo of Cafaro to his audience, Stewart joked that he looked like \u201can extra in \u2018Guys and Dolls.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s the pool guy? Does Donald Trump do business with anyone normal?\u201d Stewart exclaimed. \u201cLooks like Donnie Brasco got stung by a bee. I\u2019m sorry, to be fair, that\u2019s gotta be an old picture from like, the \u201980s when Gomez Addams was all the rage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tStewart then cut to Anderson Cooper, who explained that Cafaro is a \u201cMar-a-Lago neighbor\u201d who, in 2001, \u201cpled guilty to conspiracy to bribe then-congressman James Traficant Jr.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe pool guy?\u201d Stewart said. \u201cThe pool guy bribed the congressman, and now he gets the pool contract \u2014 that tracks. \u2018What do I do? Let\u2019s just say I\u2019m in the chlorine management business.\u2019 If you\u2019re like me, when you first heard the reflecting pool had algae, you probably thought to yourself, \u2018I hope the president of the United States is personally involved with overseeing this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
