\nBrooke Shields has been named host of \u201cHearts of Heroes,\u201d the weekend educational\/informational series from Hearst Media Production Group that is back for Season 8 on Saturday, July 11. Shields takes over for previous host Ginger Zee (\u201cGood Morning America\u201d) as \u201cHearts of Heroes\u201d returns to the \u201cWeekend Adventure\u201d kids block on ABC stations.<\/p>\n

\n\tShields currently stars in and executive produces Acorn TV\u2019s murder mystery series \u201cYou\u2019re Killing Me\u201d and also appears in Hallmark Channel\u2019s \u201cWhen Calls the Heart.\u201d She is also the founder and CEO of Commence.<\/p>\n

\n\tJoining Shields is returning contributor Sheldon Yellen, the CEO of Belfor Property Restoration, which produces \u201cHearts of Heroes\u201d along with Hearst Media Production Group. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHearts of Heroes\u201d follows first responders and their stories of heroic rescues from across the country. The show has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy, and has earned a Parents\u2019 Choice Award and several international Telly Awards. Over the course of seven seasons, it has chronicled more than 750 first responders and rescuers and featured more than 220 stories involving extreme conditions. The show also features reunions between friends and family members with their rescuers.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cRecognizing the heroism of our first responders is a lifelong passion for me and it\u2019s humbling to be able to shine a spotlight on them,\u201d Yellen said in a statement. \u201cAnd we are grateful for our partners at HMPG who have helped provide an ideal platform to highlight these extraordinary men and women every weekend on ABC stations nationwide.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHearts of Heroes\u201d is part of HMPG\u2019s lineup of 30 current original series, in addition to its library of 85 series. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis series is about spotlighting life-saving information in a way that is impactful and memorable,\u201d said Bryan Curb, HMPG executive vice president and general manager, education\/information (E\/I), in a statement. \u201cWe\u2019re looking forward to having Brooke join Sheldon in telling these important stories.\u201d<\/p>\n
