\n\tWarner Bros. new specialty label Clockwork is in exclusive negotiations for a North American deal for starry Western \u201cThe Brigands of Rattlecreek,\u201d directed by Cannes jury president Park Chan-Wook. The long-gestating project, which was one of the buzziest packages in Cannes, is set to star Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal and Tang Wei. <\/p>\n

\n\tClockwork is already ticking along after announcing at CinemaCon that it had acquired Sean Baker\u2019s \u201cAnora\u201d follow-up \u201cTi Amo!\u201d in April. The budding label will also release Ken Russell\u2019s \u201cThe Devils\u201d in October after the Cannes premiere of the restored version. Clockwork is led by former Neon executive Christian Parkes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Brigands of Rattlecreek\u201d is described as \u201can iconic tale of vengeance and retribution set in the American West.\u201d A synopsis of the project explains: \u201cA capstone of the themes Park Chan-wook has plumbed across his entire body of work to date, the film is an emotionally explosive and visually stunning meditation on the consequences of violence, the value of family, the power of memory, and the true cost of life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMcConaughey has been associated with the project for several years: After the script was selected for the Black List in 2006, Amazon acquired rights to the material and was eyeing him to star in 2019.<\/p>\n

\n\tPark will also produce for Moho Film, alongside Bradley Fischer (\u201cZodiac\u201d). Back Jisun for Moho Film, Mike Medavoy and Georgia Kacandes are executive producers.<\/p>\n

\n\tWME and CAA rep the project, while Patrick Wachsberger\u2019s 193, a Legendary company, is representing international sales.<\/p>\n
