\nDanny Pintauro, who played Jonathan Bower on all eight seasons of the ABC sitcom \u201cWho\u2019s the Boss?\u201d when he was a child actor, made headlines in April after he posted a photo of himself on Instagram that revealed he was working part time as an Amazon delivery driver. Fans were shocked to discover the star of a classic sitcom was now delivering packages for a living, but Pintauro explained on a recent episode of the \u201cPod Meets World\u201d\u00a0podcast (via Entertainment Weekly) it\u2019s one of several jobs he currently has to pay the bills since acting gigs aren\u2019t consistent enough.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen I posted the picture for [Amazon] Flex, I really didn\u2019t\u2026 it did not cross my mind [how people would react] because everybody knows that I\u2019m working,\u201d Pintauro said. \u201cIt\u2019s one of the five different gig jobs that I\u2019m doing right now. We\u2019re gig actors. Acting is one of the six gigs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPintauro said his Amazon delivery gig pays around \u201c$80 to $100\u201d for a two-to-three hour shift, adding: \u201cWe have to do what we have to do to survive. We have got to keep moving as humans. We\u2019re all doing it. I am not different from you in that sense. We\u2019ve never been different from you in that sense. I don\u2019t make money from residuals.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor explained that he previously dealt with extreme fan reactions when he took a job at the Gap for the summer after \u201cWho\u2019s the Boss?\u201d ended its run. \u201cSomebody brought in a hidden camera and took pictures of me folding clothes and said, \u2018He\u2019s already lost all his money, the downfall of Danny Pintauro!’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t Pintauro\u2019s \u201cWho\u2019s the Boss?\u201d character Jonathan Bower was the son of Judith Light\u2019s Angela Bower. The series, which ran for 196 episodes between 1984 and 1992, centers on Tony Danza\u2019s Tony Micelli, who becomes the live-in housekeeper for the Bower family and brings along his daughter, Samantha (Alyssa Milano). When Pintauro first revealed his Amazon job, he wrote in the caption: \u201cThere\u2019s no shame in staying in motion. Working hard while \u2018not working.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe entertainment business has been soooo slow, so I\u2019ve been doing what a lot of people do \u2014 figuring it out, showing up, and taking the work that\u2019s there while I keep building the work I really want. 38 packages today!\u201d he added at the time.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking to People at the time, Pintauro noted that \u201cpeople overestimate what residuals from a sitcom in the \u201980s and \u201990s look like,\u201d which is why he was working so many different jobs. He added: \u201cI invested a good portion of that money, but I also used a lot of it to pay for Stanford and to get through my early 20s, so it\u2019s not like there\u2019s just been endless money sitting there.\u201d<\/p>\n
