\n\t\u201cLadies of London: The New Reign,\u201d which premiered in March on Bravo, has been put on pause by the network. \u201cOn pause\u201d is a Bravo term of art, since the network rarely cancels shows forever. \u201cLadies of London: The New Reign\u201d is a good example of that philososophy, since the original \u201cLadies of London\u201d \u2014\u00a0a de facto \u201cReal Housewives of London,\u201d without being an official part of that franchise \u2014 ran for three seasons from 2014 through 2017, before Bravo announced in May 2025 that it would reboot the series with a new cast. <\/p>\n

\n\tThat \u201cLadies of London: The New Reign\u201d was yanked after a single season in the current high-pressure television environment, however, doesn\u2019t bode well for its future prospects. At the NBCUniversal upfront in May, Bravo pundits noted that \u201cLadies of London\u201d was conspicuously absent from the network\u2019s list of renewed series. Now that the show is officially on pause, it\u2019s safe to speculate that \u2014\u00a0while Bravo content creators fully embraced the show and its cast \u2014\u00a0\u201cLadies of London\u201d failed to catch on with a wider audience.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhat a cast it was, though. Lady Emma Thynn, Martha Lady Sitwell, Mark-Francis Vandelli, Lottie Kane, Miss\u00e8 Beqiri, Kimi Murdoch, Myka Meier and Margo Stilley \u2014\u00a0most of whom had actually known each other for years \u2014 delighted viewers over a 10-episode season. Kevin Fallon at The Daily Beast called it \u201cthe best new Bravo show in years.\u201d Even the New York Times got in on the action, with a profile of the eccentric Sitwell (the charms her magpie, Hecate, are impossible to resist). That \u201cLadies of London: The New Reign\u201d featured Vandelli, a gay man, among its cast of ladies, also broke new ground.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn an odd bit of planning, Hayu, the NBCUniversal-owned U.K. streaming service, launched \u201cThe Real Housewives of London\u201d last fall as a brand-new franchise, original to the streamer. Neither Bravo nor streaming service Peacock has re-aired \u201cThe Real Housewives of London\u201d in a second window, but that would certainly make sense now. In Variety<\/em>\u2018s review of Season 1, Scott Bryan wrote that the show is \u201cmoreish and enjoyably stupid,\u201d and declared that it\u2019s \u201cCamp camp camp!\u201d It\u2019s already been renewed for a second season at Hayu. (Cast member Juliet Angus, an American expat and influencer, was on the original \u201cLadies of London.\u201d)<\/p>\n
