\n\tFX has set the release date for the \u201cSnowfall\u201d spinoff series \u201cThe Drop: A Snowfall Saga.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe new series will premiere on September 8 on FX and Hulu. The eight-episode drama will also be available to stream on Disney+ internationally and will release one episode weekly at 9 p.m. ET \/ 6 p.m. PT.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Drop\u201d follows the events of \u201cSnowfall,\u201d a FX series exploring the crack cocaine epidemic in LA. Gail Bean and Isaiah John return as their characters Wanda Bell and Leon Simmons.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe official logline states: <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWanda starts the series driven by the clear belief that West Coast rap has the power to reshape American culture. She will work to put together a ragtag group of geniuses and lead them to the realization of all their dreams. To do it, she must navigate the dangerous overlap of music and street politics, pulling in those closest to her including her cousins Lamar Kinsey (Asante Blackk) and James Kinsey (Peyton Alex Smith) and pursuing volatile local rapper Artillery (Simmie \u201cBuddy\u201d Sims III), who is already in a tangle with law enforcement. Her internship with former D-boy-turned-label-owner Darryl \u201cDG\u201d Grant (Brandon Mychal Smith) creates opportunities but also deepens tensions between Wanda and Leon, who has vowed to leave the streets for good and chase down his own atonement through his free legal clinic. As ambition, loyalty, and survival collide, how much is everyone willing to risk in order to build something lasting in a world that threatens to pull them down?\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAside from Bean and John, series regulars include Mykelti Williamson, Nicki Micheaux, Brandon Mychal Smith, Isidora Goreshter, Eric Balfour, Richard Portnow, Zaire Adams and Demetrius Grosse. Also returning from \u201cSnowfall\u201d is Quincy Chad, who played gang member Big Deon.<\/p>\n

\n\tMalcolm Spellman, Dave Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Julie DeJoie, Michael London, Trevor Engelson and Paul Garnes are executive producing. FX Productions is producing the series. \u201cThe Drop\u201d was first rumored to be in development in 2023 and received a pilot order in 2025.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSnowfall\u201d was created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andron, and it ran on FX for six seasons from 2017 to 2023. The cast included Damson Idris, Carter Hudson, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Amin Joseph, Angela Louis, Michael Hyatt, Isaiah John, Kevin Carroll and Suzy Nakamura.<\/p>\n
