\nAmy Adams recently told the \u201cSmartless\u201d podcast that she saved a stabbing victim\u2019s life using skills she learned from the short-lived CBS medical drama \u201cDr. Vegas.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAdams said she and her family were the \u201cfirst people on the scene\u201d of the stabbing as they walked out of their \u201cfavorite\u201d Santa Monica restaurant.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThese people were screaming and a guy was walking and they were yelling, \u2018He\u2019s dying!\u2019 And my husband\u2019s like, \u2018That\u2019s blood!\u2019\u201d Adams recalled.<\/p>\n

\n\tAdams said after spotting the man, who had been \u201cstabbed in the neck,\u201d her husband, Darren Le Gallo, stayed with her daughter, while she and her dad rushed in to help.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe was bleeding and his friends were freaking out,\u201d Adams said. She explained that she felt very \u201cfocused\u201d in the moment, using beach towels to apply pressure and stop the flow of blood.<\/p>\n

\n\tAdams told the victim, \u201cThe more you struggle, the faster you\u2019re going to bleed. Just lay down.\u201d This was advice she learned playing registered nurse Alice Doherty in \u201cDr. Vegas,\u201d which ran for just five episodes on CBS in 2004. The show starred Rob Lowe as Dr. Billy Grant, a young doctor who lives and works in an old-school Las Vegas resort and casino. Other cast members included Sarah Lancaster, Lisa Gabriel, Joe Pantoliano, Tom Sizemore and Adam Clark.<\/p>\n

\n\tAdams said a year after the incident, she ran into the stabbing victim at a restaurant.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cA guy walks up to me\u2026 He\u2019s like, \u2018I heard a story that you and your dad were on the scene of a guy getting stabbed,\u2019\u201d she remembered. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Oh my God, it\u2019s you.\u2019 And it was him.\u201d<\/p>\n
