\n\tAfter going nuclear on President Trump and Fox News\u2019 Jesse Watters for spreading conspiracy theories about vandals harming the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and previously announcing a three-episode arc on the ABC soap \u201cGeneral Hospital,\u201d John Oliver revealed on Sunday\u2019s \u201cLast Week Tonight\u201d that he\u2019ll also<\/em> be appearing in a week of episodes on the NBC soap \u201cDays of Our Lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOliver said he was \u201cfilled with scorching-hot jealousy\u201d when he learned that ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith had made appearances as the character \u201cBrick\u201d on \u201cGeneral Hospital\u201d for the last decade.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTo be clear: soap opera-acting is not my Plan B,\u201d explained Oliver. \u201cI simply offered my hypothetical acting abilities to any soap that would meet my terms, which were: I wanted to play a character with a ridiculous name, I wanted a juicy storyline like murder or slapping and I wanted a dramatic close-up of my face. \n\tAnd then, the reveal: \u201cI am happy to say that I\u2019ve already taped a week of episodes on \u2018Days of Our Lives,\u2019 which is clearly a huge honor. It\u2019s been home to some of the most renowned soap opera actors, like Deidre Hall, Susan Seaforth Hayes and John Aniston,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s also featured guest appearances from legends like Dick Van Dyke, Betty White and now me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOliver\u2019s episodes of \u201cGeneral Hospital\u201d will air on July 2, 3 and 4, while his episodes of \u201cDays of Our Lives\u201d will run August 11, 12 and 14.<\/p>\n
