\n\tDylan O\u2019Brien is set for the lead role in the Hulu comedy pilot \u201cLex,\u201d Variety<\/em> has learned. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe pilot order for the project was originally announced in March. The logline for the show states that it follows Lex (O\u2019Brien), \u201ca disgraced former reality star who accidentally films a murder in the background of a $20 Cameo video, and finds himself at the center of a global conspiracy \u2014 and on the run from powerful forces who want him dead. Using the skills he acquired navigating reality TV\u2019s toxic social dynamics, Lex must fight to not get killed, to expose the truth, and most importantly\u2026 to get back on TV.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShould \u201cLex\u201d go to series, it would be O\u2019Brien\u2019s first regular television role since his time on the popular MTV series \u201cTeen Wolf,\u201d on which he starred for six seasons. He has primarily been seen in films, including leading the \u201cMaze Runner\u201d franchise and recent features like \u201cSend Help\u201d opposite Rachel McAdams, \u201cSaturday Night\u201d from Jason Reitman, and \u201cPonyboi.\u201d He will next be seen in the upcoming Apple drama \u201cBeing Heumann.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tO\u2019Brien is an executive producer on \u201cLex\u201d in addition to starring. Sean Clements is the writer and executive producer, with Paul Simms also executive producing. 20th Television is the studio. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLex\u201d is one of several pilots that Hulu currently has in contention. Most recently, the streamer announced a pilot pickup for the drama \u201cYoung Americans\u201d from Chris Hutton & Eddie O\u2019Keefe. currently prepping pilots for \u201cSouthern Bastards\u201d starring Kevin Bacon, Erin Kellyman and Tim McGraw, \u201cDurango\u201d starring Cooper Hoffman and Kathryn Newton, and \u201cChicks\u201d starring Ellen Pompeo among others. Hulu\u2019s Onyx Collective also has Ryan Coogler\u2019s \u201cX-Files\u201d reboot pilot in the works starring Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel. <\/p>\n
