\nNetflix announced it is now casting for the new competition series based on the world of \u201cMonopoly,\u201d where contestants have the chance to win $2 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tCompeting on a life-sized Monopoly Town Square, 12 players will use strategy, alliance and dealmaking to take home the prize. With opportunities to earn money, buy properties and negotiate deals, the contestants must work to stay afloat as the bankrupt players get eliminated, with only one player left standing.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMonopoly\u201d will premiere in the fall of 2027 and is made in partnership with Hasbro Entertainment and produced by Studio Lambert, which was also behind the Netflix competition shows \u201cSquid Game: The Challenge\u201d and \u201cThe Circle.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tGabriel Marano and Zachary Edwin from Hasbro Entertainment will executive produce \u201cMonopoly,\u201d along with Studio Lambert\u2019s Nia Yemoh, Tim Harcourt, Jack Burgess, Stephen Lambert and Kim Murphy.<\/p>\n

\n\tHasbro Entertainment has also announced a deal with LuckyChap and Lionsgate to produce a film based on \u201cMonopoly,\u201d with Lionsgate and LuckyChap looking to build on the success they had with the Mattel property \u201cBarbie.\u201d The entertainment company is also working on both scripted and non-scripted re-imaginiations of \u201cClue\u201d across film and television, along with a live-action \u201cDungeons & Dragons\u201d series currently in development at Netflix.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMonopoly\u201d joins the world of board game adaptations alongside an unscripted adaptation of Roald Dahl\u2019s \u201cCharlie and the Chocolate Factory\u201d titled \u201cWonka\u2019s The Golden Ticket,\u201d which will premiere on Sept. 23.<\/p>\n
