The company is home to \u201cElvis Duran and the Morning Show,\u201d which has aired on iHeart\u2019s Z100 station for more than three decades and is syndicated nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tBut Duran says the time is ripe for a new approach to producing podcasts and vodcasts. \u201cWe are seeing the need for a different level of production quality for new video podcasts,\u201d he told <em>Variety<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tDuran is one of the partners behind Podrophenia, touted as a \u201cnext-generation podcast, vodcast and creator development company.\u201d The venture brings together the Elvis Duran Group; Looking4Larry, a creative marketing agency co-founded by WWE personality Paul Heyman and producer Mitchell Stuart; and production company MCM Studios, headed by Michael Canzoniero.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cWe felt there had to be a place to take our talent for these shows,\u201d Duran said. \u201cYou need more than a microphone and booth\u201d to make a breakthrough podcast show today.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPodrophenia\u2019s inaugural flagship series is \u201cHello Randy,\u201d hosted by Randy Fenoli, longtime host of TLC\u2019s \u201cSay Yes to the Dress.\u201d Fenoli\u2019s show is expected to premiere later this year through iHeartMedia and the Elvis Duran Podcast Network; details about the podcast are being kept under wraps for now. Additional original programming announcements are expected throughout 2026, according to the company. Duran said he\u2019ll use his daily radio show to promote the Podrophenia shows and podcasts.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn its deals with creators, Podrophenia will provide upfront compensation as well as profit-sharing terms. We\u2019re not just building a content hub for creators \u2014 we\u2019re building a creator hub for the content.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPodrophenia\u2019s partners are looking at all kinds of creators for potential shows, Heyman said. \u201cIt\u2019s a matter of, Is there an audience for this? Is there a lure for advertisers and sponsors to come on board? The lens I\u2019m scouting for is \u2018uninhibited\u2019 \u2014 if a hot dog vendor on Lexington Avenue has a compelling story to tell, I want that person in Podrophenia\u2019s studios.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPodrophenia will operate from MCM Studios\u2019 production facility located in Chelsea, which features sound-controlled studios, customizable sets, broadcast-quality audio infrastructure, cinematic lighting systems, creator green rooms, post-production capabilities and collaborative production spaces. MCM Studios has hosted productions including those associated with Steven Bartlett\u2019s \u201cThe Diary of a CEO,\u201d wing-eating talk show \u201cHot Ones,\u201d Keke Palmer and more.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tStuart, of Looking4Larry, said that podcasting has \u201cevolved far beyond simply recording conversations.\u201d Podrophenia\u2019s ambitions are to build creator-led content brands that extend beyond podcasts, into films, merchandise and more, he said. \u201cWe are going to look at people who, yes, have a big fanbase. But it\u2019s not the Instagram version of them,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re looking at authentic storytelling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMeanwhile, Duran said he\u2019s interested in hosting his own show for Podrophenia at some point. On his daily radio show, he typically sits alongside three co-hosts. \u201cI would like to go to a place of doing one-on-one interviews,\u201d Duran said. Heyman also said he\u2019s been \u201ctoying with the idea of a podcast\u201d since 2011: \u201cWhen the time is right, and the marketplace is ready, I\u2019ll come out of the gates blasting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Podrophenia name is a play on \u201cQuadrophenia,\u201d The Who\u2019s classic double album released in 1973.
