\nTyler Falbo, a writer, director and producer known for his shaping the viral comedy videos of sketch group Almost Friday, is helming an R-rated comedy movie for Paramount.<\/p>\n

\n\tTitled \u201cBoys for Life,\u201d the film will be released theatrically on April 9, 2027. While few plot details are available, Variety<\/em> hears it is an ensemble comedy about a group of friends reuniting \u2014 with a twist.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBoys for Life\u201d is currently in production. Paramount acquired the project in a competitive situation that also involved A24 and Warner Bros., Variety<\/em> hears. Falbo serves as director and producer, and he co-wrote the script with Max Barrett. Galen Core also serves as producer.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs its de facto showrunner, Falbo is credited with driving the dark, genre-bending humor of \u201cAlmost Friday TV,\u201d the sketch comedy arm of the Los Angeles-based digital media company that launched Will Angus, Eilise Patton and other rising talent into the comedy scene. Falbo is also attached to direct \u201cLast Night Was a Movie,\u201d his TV project starring Almost Friday cast members that\u2019s in development at FX.<\/p>\n

\n\tCo-writer Barrett is the creator of Friday Beers and co-founder of Almost Friday Media, who, in 2020, formed the company\u2019s original sketch comedy crew of Liam Cullagh, Angus, Chet Collins and Billy Langdon.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe project falls under Paramount\u2019s newly announced Primal label, which will focus on \u201csmartly budgeted\u201d films from \u201cnext-generation storytellers\u201d across comedy, horror, action and grounded science-fiction. The label recently acquired the U.S. rights to adapt the original screenplay for\u00a0\u201cA Nightmare on Elm Street\u201dfrom the Wes Craven estate.<\/p>\n

\n\tFalbo is represented by Range Media Partners, UTA and Ziffren Brittenham.\u00a0Barrett is represented by Mosaic, Fox Rothschild and WME.<\/p>\n
