\nChristopher Nolan recently told \u201cToday\u201d that after giving it his all for \u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d it will be \u201cat least\u201d three years until he makes another movie.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI definitely hit the limits of my own stamina and everybody\u2019s stamina, I think,\u201d Nolan said. \u201cI mean, it\u2019s \u2018The Odyssey,\u2019 of course it should be difficult. We\u2019re not doing the job right making a film of \u2018The Odyssey\u2019 if it doesn\u2019t seem difficult.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of the many challenging facets of \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d was that it was shot entirely with Imax cameras. Nolan recalled telling the team at Imax before shooting, \u201cIf ever we are going to fulfill this dream of shooting the entire movie that way, this is the one. This is \u2018The Odyssey.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEven though \u201cThe Odyssey\u201d proved to be a grueling production, Nolan would not have wanted it any other way. He recently told the New York Times that studios need to stop playing it safe with their blockbusters, because audiences are hungry \u201cfor something new.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf you\u2019re really interested in movies and the history of movies, the one thing you see absolutely is that you have to take risks to succeed. The biggest risk of all is to play it safe,\u201d Nolan said. \u201cThat\u2019s what, consistently in mainstream movies, doesn\u2019t work. The audience is looking for something new.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Odyssey,\u201d based on Homer\u2019s ancient Greek epic, tells the story of Odysseus and his arduous journey back home after his victory in the Trojan War. Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, leading an all-star cast of Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong\u2019o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and more.<\/p>\n
