It claimed that Kanter and Finlayson \u201csuffered devastating reputational harm, significant economic losses, severe emotional distress, and ongoing threats to their physical safety\u201d after O\u2019Leary went \u201con the attack\u201d during his Fox News appearance. <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cFox was instrumental in O\u2019Leary\u2019s defamatory smear campaign, putting him on air to attack Plaintiffs five times in three weeks,\u201d the suit read. \u201cDespite O\u2019Leary\u2019s inherently unreliable claims, and his clear lack of support for them, Fox repeatedly invited O\u2019Leary onto its programs and allowed him to broadcast his false accusations to millions of viewers without any qualification.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=4489\">HBO\u2019s \u2018Harry Potter\u2019 Cinematographer Says It\u2019s \u2018Brutal\u2019 Working Around the Young Stars\u2019 Strict Shooting Schedules: \u2018Have to Pre-Shoot All the Scenes While They\u2019re in Class\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn late June, Fox News issued a statement apologizing for O\u2019Leary\u2019s claims. The statement read, \u201cKevin O\u2019Leary appeared as a guest on the show on May 24 and discussed the ongoing controversy surrounding his planned data center project in Utah. He made certain claims relating to the opponents of his project. Mr. O\u2019Leary has now corrected the record and explained he has \u2018no evidence\u2019 that the Alliance for a Better Utah, Josh Kantor or Taylor Knuth are funded by China or the Chinese Communist Party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tO\u2019Leary issued a statement of his own over social media, walking back the allegations.
