Those include job cuts at ESPN, Disney Entertainment Television and Disney\u2019s studios. The majority of the layoffs in the studios side are within Pixar and majority of impacts in the TV group are at National Geographic.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Disney employees who are losing their jobs were informed Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tIn April, newly appointed Disney CEO Josh D\u2019Amaro said in a memo to employees, \u201cOver the past several months, we have looked at ways in which we can streamline our operations in various parts of the company to ensure we deliver the world-class creativity and innovation our fans value and expect from Disney. Given the fast-moving pace of our industries, this requires us to constantly assess how to foster a more agile and technologically-enabled workforce to meet tomorrow\u2019s needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=4599\">ESPN Hit With Layoffs After Combining NFL Network Operations<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tPixar has released two movies in 2026: this spring\u2019s original adventure \u201cHoppers,\u201d which had a strong opening but failed to match the box office heights of prior Pixar greats, and this summer\u2019s \u201cToy Story 5,\u201d which is imminently crossing the billion-dollar mark and will end up as the highest-grossing of the franchise.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThough animated sequels, including 2024\u2019s \u201cInside Out 2,\u201d have electrified the box office, Pixar has struggled since the pandemic to launch new properties.
