\nJohnny Depp made a surprise appearance at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday \u2014 in his full Ebenezer Scrooge regalia.<\/p>\n

\n\tDepp plays Scrooge in the upcoming Paramount movie, \u201cEbenezer,\u201d which debuts in theaters this November. The actor appeared in outside of a shop called \u201cScrooge and Marley\u201d in San Diego\u2019s Gaslamp district around 2:30pm, but fans began congregating at the location just after noon for a sneak peek at whatever the studio had planned to promote the film. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHave you no jobs? It seems as though you have so much spare time,\u201d Depp as the curmudgeonly character croaked at the large crowd that assembled on the street. <\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Depp\u2019s appearance was intended to be a surprise, a few lucky fans caught sight of the star while cosplaying his more famous characters\u00a0\u2014 including Captain Jack Sparrow from the \u201cPirates of the Caribbean\u201d movies and the Mad Hatter from \u201cAlice in Wonderland.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tFrom Ti West, \u201cEbenezer\u201d also stars Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Charlie Murphy, with Tramell Tillman and Ian McKellen. The film will debut in theaters on Nov. 13. <\/p>\n
