They are going to surprise everyone. Each one understands her character perfectly and they all fell in love with the original material,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFilmed on 16mm over four years, largely inside Begos\u2019 Los Angeles apartment, \u201cJimmy and Stiggs\u201d follows estranged friends Jimmy\u2014an unemployed filmmaker convinced aliens once abducted him\u2014and Stiggs, his now-sober former collaborator, as they reunite to confront what they believe is an imminent extraterrestrial invasion.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMore a reimagining than a remake, De Caro\u2019s version follows new characters battling the same extraterrestrial threat in Argentina, taking Begos\u2019 universe in a bold new direction.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=4840\">Amazon MGM Studios Hires HBO Max\u2019s Pia Barlow as Head of Original Series Marketing<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tAlong with co-writer Mat\u00edas Orta, he is joined by celebrated genre helmer-scribe Ramiro Garc\u00eda Bogliano (\u201cPenumbra\u201d) as a creative producer; director of photography Mariano Su\u00e1rez, best known for his work on\u00a0Argentine horror hits \u201cWhen Evil Lurks\u201d and\u00a0\u201cTerrified\u201d; production designer Catalina Oliva (\u201cA Singular Crime\u201d) and Federico Ricaldoni (\u201cRooms for Tourists\u201d) as the local producer, working closely with Guisa and De Caro to anchor the production in Argentina.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThis project was born from two conversations and a cocktail \u2014 one with Eli [Roth] over a year ago, and one with Seba [Caro] a few months back. Both were talks between friends who love cinema. Then we presented the IP at the MorbidoGate Showcase and cocktail in Cannes, and today we are announcing the cast and I am boarding as producer. Films are made as a team, but for me genre cinema goes beyond that \u2014 it\u2019s made as a family. And in this project, that couldn\u2019t be more true,\u201d said Guisa, who recently attended the Costa Rica Media Market to launch a new initiative supporting Latin American women filmmakers in the genre field, WomanInFan LatAm.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI am proud to be part of a national project led by such talented women,\u201d said Palazzolo, known to her 9.4 million TikTok followers as La Ardilla and who has also built a hefty presence in\u00a0theater and radio.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tFor Su\u00e1squita, \u201cBurger Night\u201d\u00a0marks her first venture into genre cinema. \u201cI feel that genre cinema is the most creative and critical genre of our time. As an actress, this is a challenging project, full of adrenaline, that allows me to work for the first time in a different language \u2014 one that belongs to the genre, where limits shift and creativity expands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cEveryone grew up watching movies about aliens landing in the United States. But what happens when they land in Argentina? That, for me, is what makes this project most stimulating.
