He and Gosling also recently collaborated on the upcoming \u201cStar Wars: Starfighter,\u201d which Levy also directed and in which Gosling stars. That film is due to release on May 28, 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI\u2019m having the greatest flashback vibes here, because I was here two years ago when we showed \u2018Deadpool &amp; Wolverine,&#8217;\u201d Levy said upon taking the Hall H stage alongside Gosling and Feige. \u201cI\u2019ll never forget that night, because I was introduced to the greatest fans. Gosling is the absolute shit. I say that with tremendous respect. We spent a lot of time last year making \u2018Starfighter,\u2019 and the opportunity as Ryan started talking about this character, I was like, \u2018Bro, let\u2019s ride.\u2019 We\u2019ll see you in 2028!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGosling will be the second actor to play the Spirit of Vengeance in a film after Nicolas Cage played the fiery motorcycle rider in two Sony movies. The character was also portrayed by Gabriel Luna as the Robbie Reyes version of the comic book character in the Marvel-ABC series \u201cAgents of SHIELD.\u201d Luna was set to reprise the role in a standalone series for Hulu, but that project was scrapped in 2019. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tCage first starred in Sony\u2019s \u201cGhost Rider\u201d movie in 2007, playing motorcycle stuntman Johnny Blaze. In the comics and his origin story movie, Johnny sells his soul to the devil Mephisto in order to cure his father\u2019s cancer. As with any deal with the devil, Mephisto does cure Johnny\u2019s dad, but he still dies in a stunt accident. Johnny then becomes bonded to a supernatural demon called the Spirit of Vengeance and is able to transform into a flaming, skeletal biker.
