As the industry continues to evolve, workers across visual effects are increasingly seeking the protections, benefits, and collective bargaining rights that come with union representation.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tLast year, visual effects workers on \u201cAvatar,\u201d as well those who work at\u00a0Marvel\u00a0and\u00a0Disney, ratified their first labor contract, in a significant step for the VFX industry. The contracts included standard union protections like overtime pay, eligibility for the Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plan, meal penalties, rest periods and turnaround times.
