{"id":5395,"date":"2026-08-03T10:07:50","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T10:07:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=5395"},"modified":"2026-08-03T10:07:50","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T10:07:50","slug":"peaky-blinders-helps-u-k-region-land-official-production-hub-status-from-british-film-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=5395","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Peaky Blinders\u2019 Helps U.K. Region Land Official Production Hub Status From British Film Commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div>\n<!-- do not apply CSS styles to this element! --><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\n\t\u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d may have given closely clipped back and sides haircuts a new lease of life, but it\u2019s now helped a region of the U.K. land official backing as a center for high-end productions. <\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=5393\">Erik Poppe\u2019s \u2018Beloved\u2019 to Open Haugesund: \u2018All Eyes Are on Norway,\u2019 Says Festival Chief Tonje Hardersen<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe British Film Commission has announced that the West Midlands, home to the city of Birmingham and where \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d is set and shot, has been named the U.K.\u2019s eighth official regional production hub for scripted inward investment for film and high-end TV. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tAccording to the Commission, having served as production base for \u201cPeaky Blinders,\u201d the feature film \u201cThe Immortal Man\u201d and the as-yet untitled \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d spin-off series, the region has now fulfilled the criteria needed to receive official hub status. <\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe West Midlands joins South-West England (Bristol); North-West England (Manchester and Liverpool); Yorkshire (Leeds); Northern Ireland (Belfast); Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh); Wales (Cardiff); and London &amp; South-East England as an official production hub, lending its strength to a UK-wide offer which contributed \u00a35.8 billion ($7.8 billion) to the UK economy in 2025. <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cAs Tommy Shelby of the Peaky Blinders once said, \u2018when you plan something well, there\u2019s no need to rush.\u2019 The growing success of the West Midlands as a U.K. production hub certainly bears this out. Studios, which was founded by show creator Steven Knight. <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cI\u2019m thrilled that the West Midlands has been recognised as a fantastic place to make film and TV,\u201d said Knight. The opening of Digbeth Loc. Studios is an important part of that ambition, providing a home for world-class film and television production in the heart of Birmingham. We are at the beginning of a journey, and we\u2019ve got off to a great start.
