\n\tEverclear Films has signed two English-language productions \u2013 a U.K. drama based on the true story of a transgender prosecutor in the U.K. and a psychological thriller titled \u201c16\/32\u201d \u2013 as the company moves to expand its slate into international long-form content.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe company, led by producers Raj Vasudeva and Anuradha Sachdev, is building a pipeline of three projects as it pivots toward long-form storytelling after years of work in commercials and branded content.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe first signed project, \u201cMaking Maya\u201d (working title), is a U.K. co-production drawn from the life of Maya Arputham, a transgender prosecutor in Britain, navigating the barriers of one of its most traditional institutions. The script is complete, with the project in early-stage funding discussions and director and co-producer conversations underway. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe second project, \u201c16\/32,\u201d is a psychological horror-thriller directed by Aditya Nair. The film follows fashion photographer John, whose life fractures after receiving a cryptically labeled photo frame; as deaths mount among people close to him, he is compelled to confront a malevolent presence and the buried trauma of his own past. The project is partly funded and in pre-production, with the shoot to take place in the U.K.<\/p>\n

\n\tA third project in development, \u201cBadaa Kaam\u201d (working title), is a Hindi-language feature with a completed script directed by Samit Kakad. The production has attached international financing from Luxembourg, Singapore, India and Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe announcements follow a sustained run for Everclear\u2019s debut feature \u201cMercy,\u201d directed by Mitul Patel and starring Adil Hussain alongside Vasudeva. The film held a 14-day theatrical run in India, sustained by word-of-mouth, and on May 8 held a Netherlands premiere in The Hague at an event opened by Mayor Jan van Zanen, with support from organizations working in end-of-life care. An international release in additional territories is set for June, with a streaming deal in the process of being finalized.<\/p>\n
