\n\tThis summer is certainly proving to look a little bit different, with six new actors joining the cast of \u201cThis Summer Will Be Different\u201d as production begins on Prince Edward Island.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tBased on Carley Fortune\u2019s novel of the same name, Netflix announced new recurring cast members, including Jordan Rodrigues as Miles Lam, Jude Wilson as Zach, Natalie Brown as Christine, James Tupper as Ken, Tom Barnett as Peter and Cecilia Owen as Joy. They join previously announced stars Sophie N\u00e9lisse, Francesca Reale and Roby Attal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 10-episode series is a \u201csimmering, sun-soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island about Lucy, a young woman navigating her 20s and her first real love with her best friend\u2019s brother, the one person she was never supposed to fall for,\u201d per the show\u2019s logline.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019ve read the first episode script, and it\u2019s great. It\u2019s all moving very, very quickly, but it felt like it was almost like matchmaking, where you can see that this is the perfect fit,\u201d Fortune told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> early July.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso filming in Toronto, \u201cThis Summer Will Be Different\u201d is directed by Karen Maine (\u201cNobody Wants This\u201d), Jasmin Mozaffari (\u201cGinny & Georgia\u201d) and Fab Filippo (\u201cSort Of\u201d). Dane Clark and Linsey Steward serve as the series\u2019 creators, showrunners and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Fortune and Sphere Media\u2019s Jennifer Kawaja, Elise Cousineau and Sam Levine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tPrime Video previously adapted another one of Fortune\u2019s novels, \u201cEvery Summer After,\u201d as the series \u201cEvery Year After\u201d this June, which starred Matt Cornett and Sadie Soverall.<\/p>\n
