\n\tAfter just seven days on the big screen, \u201cSpider-Man: Brand New Day\u201d has already supplanted \u201cToy Story 5\u201d as the highest-grossing movie of the year.<\/p>\n

\n\tSony and Marvel\u2019s web-slinging sequel, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, has generated $1.155 billion to date, including $449 million domestically and $706.3 million internationally. Those ticket sales are above Disney\u2019s \u201cToy Story 5,\u201d which has earned $1.067 billion since June. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe latest milestone build\u2019s on the film\u2019s epic run, which also includes the biggest Tuesday ever at the domestic box office with $42 million, overtaking 2021\u2019s \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home\u201d with $39 million. \u201cBrand New Day\u201d also delivered the highest-grossing Monday with $47 million, besting the high record set by 2018\u2019s \u201cBlack Panther\u201d with $40 million. <\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s also the fastest film to notch $400 million in North America, taking just four days, and it\u2019s the second-quickest movie to surpassing $1 billion, doing so in just six days. Only 2019\u2019s Marvel mashup \u201cAvengers: Endgame,\u201d with a mind-boggling $1.2 billion worldwide in three days, got there faster. That\u2019s on top of securing the biggest domestic debut in box office history with $360 million, as well as the second-largest global debut of all time with $932 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tMarvel Studios president Kevin Feige credits the ever-enduring appeal of Spider-Man, as well as the actor who has donned the Spandex in four solo adventures, for the heroic box office success of \u201cBrand New Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPeople can write about changing tastes, but as characters that grow and evolve through the decades, there are none better than the Marvel characters \u2014 and none better than Peter Parker,\u201d Feige said after opening weekend. \u201cWhen you find an actor like Tom Holland to bring that character to life, it is the magic formula.\u201d<\/p>\n
