\n\t\u201cThe Breakfast Club\u201d star Anthony Michael Hall said during a recent appearance on \u201cThe Rich Eisen Show\u201d that director John Hughes wanted a sequel in which the group of troubled teens reunites as adults.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was something that was on his mind, the idea of bringing back the \u2018Breakfast Club,\u2019\u201d Hall said. \u201cLike, those five characters reunited somehow later in their life and they\u2019re in the workforce and they\u2019re in their 30s.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHall explained that his last conversation with Hughes, who died in 2009 from a heart attack, was in 1988, three years after \u201cThe Breakfast Club\u201d hit theaters.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe called me with John Candy on the phone, and it was about 1988, and we just hung out on the phone for a couple hours, and he talked about [the sequel] at that time,\u201d Hall added, \u201cSo I think that it was something he was playing with. I don\u2019t know if he had written it or not.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHall starred as the book-smart Brian Johnson alongside Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez and Ally Sheedy. The mid-\u201980s classic followed a group of teens from different very backgrounds who became unlikely friends after a day in detention.<\/p>\n

\n\tHall also appeared in 1984\u2019s \u201cSixteen Candles\u201d and 1985\u2019s \u201cWeird Science\u201d for Hughes. Hall recalled that the director approached him about the latter just a few weeks into filming \u201cThe Breakfast Club.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHall remembered, \u201cHe goes, \u2018I just came up with another idea for our next film.\u2019 He goes, \u2018It\u2019s going to be you and this other kid. You\u2019re going to create a girl in the computer.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018What?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
