That total made it the lowest grossing live-action \u201cStar Wars\u201d movie (below the $393 million haul of \u201cSolo\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/relocationobserver.com\/?p=5887\">\u2018Lioness\u2019 Season 3 Opens With 7.1 Million Viewers in Three Days, Up From Season 2 (EXCLUSIVE)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n\tDirected by Jon Favreau, the film premiered in theaters May 22 and follows bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his apprentice, Grogu, as they\u2019re recruited by officer Colonel Ward (Sigourney Weaver) to aid the New Republic. The unlikely duo must rescue the heir to Jabba the Hutt, Rotta the Hutt (voiced by \u201cThe Bear\u2019s\u201d Jeremy Allen White), in order to track down an Imperial leader.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe cast also features Martin Scorsese, who makes a guest appearance as fry cook Hugo Durant. This isn\u2019t his first time working with the franchise, though, as the filmmaker also held a brief role in \u201cSolo: A Star Wars Story\u201d as cook Rio Durant.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\u201cThe Mandalorian and Grogu\u201d takes place after \u201cThe Mandalorian\u201d Season 3 and \u201cAhsoka\u201d Season 1, both Disney+ original series. Favreau co-wrote the film alongside Dave Filoni, who was promoted to president of Lucasfilm earlier this year following Kathleen Kennedy\u2019s departure.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThis is the first \u201cStar Wars\u201d movie since \u201cThe Rise of Skywalker\u201d in 2019, which earned $1 billion globally.
