\n\tOnce upon a time, \u201cSeverance\u201d star Adam Scott auditioned for the beloved sitcom \u201cThe Office.\u201d Years later, he\u2019s reliving the memories of that failed audition after his daughter\u2019s acting teacher had the class compare Scott\u2019s audition tape to John Krasinski\u2019s successful tape.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe put it to the class like, \u2018Okay. Let\u2019s discuss why\u00a0he\u00a0got the job, and\u00a0he\u00a0didn\u2019t,’\u201d Scott said on Thursday\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBut I\u2019m just happy to know that in a prestigious acting class, I\u2019m the subject of what not to do,\u201d Scott continued.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe was mortified,\u201d Scott said of his daughter\u2019s reaction. \u201cAnd when she was walking out, the teacher stopped her, he\u2019s like, \u2018Hey, um, do you know one of them? Like, what\u2026\u2019 and then he kind of put two and two together with her last name and he felt terrible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter auditioning, Krasinski was ultimately cast as Jim Halpert on the NBC series that ran from 2005 to 2013. Scott did go on to star in a sitcom of his own, \u201cParks and Recreation,\u201d which ran from 2009 to 2015 and starred Amy Poehler, Rashida Jones and Aubrey Plaza.<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere on \u201cThe Tonight Show,\u201d Scott fielded questions about \u201cSeverance\u201d Season 3, which is currently in production in New York, and said he doesn\u2019t know when it will release. He is starring alongside Robert De Niro in the new movie \u201cThe Whisper Man,\u201d which releases Aug. 28 on Netflix.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter his breakout role on \u201cThe Office,\u201d Krasinski went on to direct and star in \u201cA Quiet Place.\u201d<\/p>\n
