\nRanveer Singh\u2018s \u201cPralay,\u201d an end-of-the-world action thriller, has begun filming in Mumbai.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is produced by Ananya Birla\u2019s Birla Studios, Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal\u2019s True Story Films and Singh\u2019s Maa Kasam Films.<\/p>\n

\n\tSingh, who headlines the project, also serves as a producer on the film, which is directed by Jai Mehta. One of the top stars of Bollywood, Singh takes on a physically demanding role for \u201cPralay.\u201d This is his next project after the \u201cDhurandhar\u201d (2025) and \u201cDhurandhar \u2013 The Revenge\u201d (2026) duology, which are among the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe cast also includes Kalyani Priyadarshan, who broke out with \u201cLokah Chapter One: Chandra\u201d (2025), in a pivotal role. Jai Mehta previously co-directed SonyLIV series \u201cScam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story\u201d (2020) with Hansal Mehta, and directed JioHotstar series \u201cLootere\u201d (2024).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPralay\u201d is an original story centered on survival as the world faces catastrophe, set against the backdrop of Mumbai, where the production is now shooting. The production is filming at live locations across the Mumbai region, an approach the makers say brings added scale, texture and realism to the story. The crew includes talent from India and abroad.<\/p>\n

\n\tBirla Studios said the project reflects Birla\u2019s interest in working with some of the leading current names in Indian cinema. True Story Films, run by Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal, said the film fits the banner\u2019s focus on unconventional storytelling.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s the kind of film that India hasn\u2019t made yet, the kind of film that India hasn\u2019t seen before,\u201d Hansal Mehta had told Variety<\/em> while unveiling the True Story Films slate.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPralay\u201d moved into production after several months of technically intensive pre-production.<\/p>\n
